My name is Chrissy and I am 35 years old. I have an associate degree for Physical Therapist Assistant and a Bachelor's degree for Healthcare Administration with a concentration in Healthcare Management. I have been a licensed PTA and have been working in Physical Therapy for over 13 yea​rs. After I had my three daughters, I knew I wanted to help parents advocate for themselves and help parents through this life event! I currently work as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the school system and perdiem providing physical therapy in the skilled nursing facility setting. Other trainings and/or certifications include: CPR/AED, Reiki- Traditional Usui Method, Reiki For Birth Workers, DONA International Approved Birth Doula Workshop, DONA International Intro To Childbirth Ed. For New Doulas, Introduction To Breastfeeding For Doulas. (Birthing Gently), Physical Therapy In Obstetrics (APTA Pelvic Health), Certified ProDoula Postpartum and Infant Care Doula, ProDoula Labor Doula Training (Boston Birth Associates), Lamaze Childbirth Educator, Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Certification (Crisis Prevention Institute) .

 

How I got my business name:

I didn’t think coming up with a name for my Doula Service would be so hard! I’m honored to serve all birthing people, their support system, and the child they bring into this world. The name of my Doula services was a group effort. I had talked to a few of my friends and with their help we came up with H.E.R. It stands for Harper, Emily and Rue, which are my three daughters. Emily, Harper and Rue are my greatest accomplishments in my life! I am very passionate about them and being a Doula is something I am very passionate about too! I want to help parents enjoy their babies, educate, and help ease some worries any new parents may have! I am inclusive to all birthing paths and the LGBTQ+ community. This part of life is very special and having someone there to help support you during this short time is something I think would be beneficial to everyone!
